5-8-20 THOUGHTS

I’m thinking about PERCEPTION this morning.  It literally means “a taking in”.  Maybe similar to Jesus “He that has ears to hear, let him hear”?  We have abundant and continual stimulus around us all the time.  How much of it do we “take in”?  
The follow came for Joe Ekkelboom yesterday. It opened a perceiving that had not been in my mind.  I read it, and instantly sent to my two children who have my younger grandchildren in tow.  

“Everyone is applauding everyone but our children.  These little heros have stayed indoors more than they’ve ever known in their lives.  Their whole little worlds have literaly been turned upside down and they don’t know why All these rules they’ve never known. Not being able to see family or give hugs.  Vacations, sports, and activities, play dates and school cancelled.  
Adults talking about others becoming unwell, news reporting death after death.  Our poor children’s minds must be racing.  Every day their resilient little bodies get up and carry on despite all that’s going on.  
So here’s to our little heroes... today, tomorrow and forever!”

I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around these pandemic events.  I have however learned that I do not have to understand everything.  When I understand GOD and HIS Eternal PERSPECTIVE...  I can perceive a “peace that passes understanding”.  I can communicate that to anyone who will listen.  Parents, somehow instill a peace in your children.  They will not understand the current pandemic.  They need desperately to see the peace in you that comes from God!  

Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Col 3:15  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Isa 48:17-18    Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go. 18  "If only you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your well-being would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Ps 17:8    Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings

My Prayer:
Wonderful Father in heaven, calm our souls and give us of your peace.  Help us to understand the YOU are in control and that we don’t have to be.  Abide in us Oh God, keep us in your presence.
Let our Faith and our Trust in You overflow in this time.  Hide us beneath the shadow of your wings and under the shadow of the Cross.                 In Jesus precious name                   Amen
